These past couple of days in Texas have flown by, today is my first day allowing me to just relax. Traveling, work, family, and friends have consumed my past week in a half since I’ve been back. Though as the new year starts to roll on in, I will have some more free time to devote to my blog before school starts back up at the end of the month.
With the free time, I have work that needs to be done for projects planned for the new year, ranging from NYFW coverage (street style, shows, & hopefully backstage), an expose on personal style bloggers, and the start of my new internship with Emily Barnes. All very exciting stuff I am looking forward to share with you all.
I am also playing around with the idea to start creating outfits with a theme and location in mind with a little help from photoshop. Especially now that I am scrap for choices in Texas, with my clothing choices limited to almost only a hand few of options. I will relay on these outfit posts to support my personal style when my look is subpar. Not to forget, I am in Texas there isn’t as much exciting stuff going on in my life. Don’t fret though, I am searching for inspiration high and low in even my dullest days. Plus I plan on doing a daily flash back to highlight my pre-blogging days. Material you haven’t seen before and is a shame I wasn’t blogging then, but I feel deserves to be featured.
On my last note, don’t forget to check out this great site, Pose. Anyone with a love for personal style will love this App as much as I do.
4 more classes. 3 more finals. 2 days until I go home. 1 last day of interning.
Can you say, I am beyond excited for relaxation with my boyfriend for five weeks! :D Granted I will be working at Saks in my home city over the break for some extra spending money. This is the first time I am beyond thrilled to go home & relax for a little while. I feel I have accomplished way more this semester than last. And plan to accomplish even more over the course of next semester/ year.
A list that I came across a couple of mornings ago while reading the paper on my way to work had some helpful advice on how to prepare for next year. It said along the lines of write down all of your accomplishments that you’ve done over the past year. Take time to reflect over them, because the only way to continue to grow is to look at past goals, see if you achieved them. Then you can create a new list of goals and expectations for the new year. This is a great way to see what you’ve done and where you still wanna go.
I plan on dwelling over my past blur of a year before 2012 rings in.
What are your plans to help prepare for next year?
OH sorry for so many questions, but i notice you attend FIT. HOLY CRAP I LOVE THAT SCHOOL ITS THE SCHOOL OF MY DREAMS, SERIOUSLY, DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE ON MAKING IT IN? sorry for the capslock haha im just so excited! im not too far from the city anyway, i live in Jersey :)) how is it at FIT? please lemme know!! thanksss
Work hard, love what you do and learn as much from fashion books (magazines) while you’re still at home. The more you know before you’re taught it, the more likely you are to advance yourself. Don’t let anyone tell you, you can’t do anything.
Also, a little personal style never hurt anyone. Make everyday a day to dress up.
