After a month and a half of waiting, today was finally my first day at Harper’s Bazaar in the Fashion Closet. I woke up super early to arrive ahead of scheduled and to make sure my outfit was cute before I left. Shortly after I arrived at the Hearst Tower going in for my first day interning, anxiously awaiting the fashion closest, Sarah Conly, and Joanna Hillman. I meet my fellow interns and get shown around the 25th floor that is Harper’s, from shoes to printers, and everything in-between. The rest of my day consisted of shadowing other interns and learning that my Cole Haan wing tipped shoes were not going to cut it on sample runs. From nine am to seven pm my feet were put through torture, with the exception of the first hour that they felt great. Even though my feet my have been dying for freedom, I felt like I was at the right place. My first day at Harper’s was long, yet filled with fashion from Christian Louboutins studded platform heels to Marc Jacobs FW dotted samples. Nothing more I could ask for on my first day (other than possibly filling in fashion week seats that were rsvp’d no).
